List of foods to support Liver Cleansing

  • Artichoke

  • Green veggies: Asparagus, Cucumber, Broccoli-brassica/cruciferous, Celery

  • Beets

  • Radishes & Daikon

  • Watercress

  • Turmeric/Curcumin

  • Leafy & Bitter Greens: Mustard, Sorrel, Arugula,  Collards, Kale, Romaine, Endive, Dandelion

  • Barley greens

  • Burdock (gobo)

  • Parsley

  • Garlic & Onion

  • Chlorophyll, Wheat grasses, Seaweeds & Spirulina (Like Dragon's Den Green Drink)

  • Sour Fruits: Lemons, Lime, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Crab apple, Sour plums

  • Fruits: Grapes, Papaya, Mango, Raspberries Tomato

  • Olives, Olive oil , Sauerkraut, Apple cider vinegar, Molasses, Brewers yeast, Cayenne

  • Almonds, Sesame seeds/Tahini

  • Lentils, Adzuki beans

  • Kefir yogurt

  • Green tea (Like Organic Gen Maicha Green Tea)

  • Schizandra, Milk thistle, Rose hips

Also to support the Liver:

  • Eat 50 to 80 grams of high quality protein (lower for those with liver dysfunction)

  • Eat only small amounts of unsaturated fats

  • Eat small meals, easily digested foods like: endive, collards, dandelion leaves, ginger, fennel, cardamom, steamed veggies, apples, pears

  • Eliminate sugar, as sugar lowers immune and enzyme activity

  • To increase enzyme activity, eat foods with sulfur (Garlic, Onions, Broccoli, Cruceriferous vegetables)
