Why Green Drink?

The Dragon's Den Green Drink powder has been a customer favorite since its creation by Dr. Malik Cotter.

But is the Green Drink all hype? Why do people drink Green Drink? We'd like to share some of our insights into why this Green Drink formula is so powerfully nutritious and a great part of anyone's daily routine.

The Dragon's Den Green Drink consists of Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheatgrass, Dandelion greens, Barley grass, Oat grass, and Alfalfa grass.

These greens all greatly benefit when one is looking to balance their fluid pH- that is, the pH of the saliva and the urine. The pH levels of these fluids varies depending on diet - if you eat a mostly alkaline diet, the pH of these fluids will range from 7.0-7.2.

Science is starting to show the benefits of eating a mostly alkaline diet - basically, when we ditch acidic foods like meat, dairy, and baked goods, and incorporate more alkaline-forming foods like vegetables and low-sugar fruit, we can think clearer, feel better, experience fewer aches and pains, and sustain longer periods of energy and endurance without the crash afterward.

A little bit about the ingredients we use in our Dragon's Den Green Drink:

~ Green Drink Mix –  An excellent blood detoxifier, cleanser, tissue regenerator, bringing organ structure and function to a high level of function, as well as potent a source of minerals, enzymes, and other nutrients.

~ Chlorella – Chlorella is a high-quality source of chlorophyll. Contains protein, carbohydrates, all of the B vitamins, vitamins C and E, has amino acids, and trace minerals.  Contains a high amount of Vitamin B12 and a large amount of beta-carotene.  Best to get the cracked cell wall variety so as to gain access to its nutrients.  Rich in RNA and DNA.  Protects from ultraviolet radiation. A single-cell algae that eliminates toxins through the feces by binding to toxic metals and clears them out of the body. Contains phytochemicals that support the complex network of enzymatic reactions that promote detoxification, has antiviral and antibacterial properties, and enhances the immune system.  An excellent source of protein.

~ Spirulina – a micro-algae that thrives in alkaline waters.  Has high concentration of protein, beneficial oils, vitamin B12, iron, essential amino acids, RNA, DNA, and chlorophyll.  Has shown increase life spans and assist in healing liver ailments problems.  Aids in cholesterol reduction, mineral absorption, and boosts the immune system.  Cleanses and heals, curbs the appetite, beneficial for those fasting.  Its high protein content stabilizes blood sugar levels.

~ Wheat grass - eliminates cancerous growths. Its Molecular structure is similar to hemoglobin with the metallic atom at its center being magnesium.

~ Alfalfa grass, rich in chlorophyll, plus calcium magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and most all vitamins.

~ Barley grass, high in calcium, iron, all essential amino acids, chlorophyll, flavonoids, vitamin B12, vitamin C, most minerals, plus enzymes.

These ingredients are all high in Chlorophyll, which is almost identical in structure to hemoglobin, the protein in the blood that transports oxygen to the cells.  Chlorophyll has a cleansing effect on the bloodstream and revitalizing effect on the body, particularly the liver, the kidneys, and the intestines.

The Grasses are all juiced fresh and immediately freeze-dried to preserve all of the nutrients present - no lost nutrients due to heavy processing here. More importantly, the life stage at which these grasses are harvested (right before the 'jointing stage') means that these grasses are harvested at peak time, filled with maximum nutrients. Harvesting at this stage also helps with palatability - if you've ever had bolted lettuce, you know just how bitter it can be! These fresh grass juice powders taste smooth and blend well with other flavors, ie. smoothies, apple juice, and more.
